Cookie policy

Which cookies this website sets, what they are used for, and how to clear or block them in your browser at any time.

What cookies we set

This site sets cookies for one purpose: anonymous traffic measurement, through Google Analytics 4. They let us see how many people visited, which guides they read and roughly where in the world they were — not who they are.

Those counts also feed MKL Hospitality Group’s combined reporting across its properties. It is the same anonymous measurement, read at group level.

We set no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking cookies. We set no cookie for session recording or heatmaps either, because this site uses no such tool — see the privacy policy, which lists what the previous version of this site carried and this one does not.

What that data is used for

Understanding which guides people read, how they arrive, and what they go on to look at. We use it to decide what to write next and what to improve.

Clearing or blocking cookies

Every browser lets you clear cookies already stored and refuse new ones. This site works with cookies blocked; you will simply not be counted in our statistics.

The hotels’ own websites, and the places we write about

Following a link to one of the hotels, or to a restaurant, park or attraction we mention, takes you to a site that sets its own cookies under its own policy. This site takes no bookings, so no booking provider’s cookies are ever set here.

The same Google Analytics setup also counts telephone and booking-link clicks and confirmed enquiry submissions; this feature does not add another analytics provider or a new cookie category.
